How agencies are leading the way with post lockdown working practices

By  |

The coronavirus pandemic has brought a lot of changes to the world. It’s affected how we work, how we socialize, and how we entertain ourselves, among others. However, these changes are not entirely new for everyone. While they may be rising in prominence because of the number of people who are at home, in certain circles, this is all kind of normal. Agencies, for example, have been using some of the lockdown working practices for years. In this blog, we’ll take a look at how digital agencies. How to Build a Lucrative Digital Marketing Company could become the standard-bearers for how we work in the future.

What is a Four Day Work Week

Sometimes, a rule sticks around just because it’s the norm – “the way that things have always been done.” This is why so many people are still working five days a week. Some marketing agencies tend to do things a little differently, however. Reflect Digital in Kent typically have a 4-day working week, not five. They do this because they know that productivity doesn’t increase if people are working more hours, but what is affected is the quality of the work that’s produced.

Only use the office two times a week

Never have the cities been so quiet. They’re usually bustling with workers, but in recent months, only the most essential workers have been doing their jobs onsite like online working. Everyone else has been working from home. And do you know what was discovered? It’s actually easier to incorporate into a company’s operations than expected! There has been some resistance to allowing staff to work from home, but there are benefits. Employee retention, happiness, and productivity usually increase. It’s still important to get together from time to time, however, which is why agencies usually ask staff to come in once or twice a week.

You don’t need a large office space

Aside from boosting an employee’s output, there are other benefits to allowing employees to work from home: you won’t need as large an office space. If there’s a large team of staff working at the company, then the company will need to locate and rent a larger space to accommodate everyone, if they’re going to work on-site. When employees spend most of their week working from home, then a smaller space will do. This can lead to significant savings, both in terms of the amount of rent that you need to pay, and in how much it costs to run (energy bills are greatly reduced). This will also bring environmental benefits, too. A company’s carbon footprint is greatly reduced when they’re running a smaller place and they don’t have staff members commuting to the office all the time.

Kent based creative marketing agency Tiga stated that “Trust is absolutely key to making remote working effective. Empowering colleagues to work from home and make decisions is essential. For us, we were lucky enough to have the cloud-based infrastructure in place and have done for a good number of years. The important thing is to make sure everyone still works as a team, daily schedule meetings and informal lunchtime catch-ups go a long way in keeping colleagues engaged.”

In the future, it seems likely that all companies will follow the lead of agencies, and incorporate some progressive elements into their operations. As we’ve seen during the lockdown, it’s always possible to rethink how we’re working. If changes can be made that benefit the employees, employers, and company as a whole, then it’s recommended to take them on board.
